Vicia sin. Faba), je rod biljaka cvjetnica iz porodice mahunarki (Fabaceae), po čijem je sinonimnom imenu označena cijela porodica, a i red Fabales. Uključuje mnoge poljoprivredno i ekonomski značajne vrste.^[1][2][3]

Prvi puta ovaj rod pod imenom Vicia opisao je Linnaeus 1753. godine, dok ga je Phillip Miller 1754. opisao pod imenom Faba. Rodu pripada preko 200 vrsta jednogodišnjih biljaka i trajnica. U Bosni I Hercegovini i okolnim državama uspijeva oko 50 vrsta i podvrsta.
