Australopithecus anamensis (of Praeanthropus anamensis) is ’n uitgestorwe spesie van die genus Australopithecus wat sowat 4 miljoen jaar gelede geleef het. Dit is die oudste spesie wat met sekerheid toegeken kan word aan die menslike stamboom. Byna honderd fossiele van Kenia^[1]^[2] en Ethiopië^[3] is bekend; dit verteenwoordig meer as 20 individue.
