On 8 August 1503, Margaret was led to the abbey church of Holyrood, a Gothic monastery that James had transformed into a palace. Sitting at the base of Arthur's seat, Holyrood offered Margaret new apartments, extensive gardens and respite from the noise of the city. There, she and James were married and Margaret was crowned.

Prince Wiktoryn did not move to either the Ziębice-Oleśnica or Kłodzko estates of the Podiebrady family, although he was entitled to titles related to them. He died on September 30, 1500 in Cieszyn, but was buried in Kłodzko in the family crypts.
On October 27, 1505, Ivan Vasilievich passed away, having been on the throne for a little over 43 years. At the time of his death, he was 65 years old - an extremely respectable age for an era when the average life expectancy was almost half that.
