Aalborg University (AAU) is an international public university with campuses in Aalborg, Esbjerg, and Copenhagen, Denmark. Founded in 1974, the university awards bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and PhD degrees in a wide variety of subjects within humanities, social sciences, information technology, design, engineering, exact sciences, and medicine.

According to the 2024 edition of the QS World University Rankings, Aalborg University is ranked 336th worldwide. The university is especially known for its mechanical engineering study program, ranked eighth worldwide and first in Europe in 2021 according to U.S. News & World Report. The motto of the university in Danish is ad nye veje (on new paths).
