Alireza Zakani (Persian: علیرضا زاکانی, born 3 March 1966[2][3]) is an Iranian conservative[1] politician, current mayor of Tehran since 2021 and Aide to the president of Iran in affairs of management of social damages in Tehran city since 2023.
He was a member of the Parliament of Iran from 2004 to 2016 and also from 2020 to 2021. He owns Jahan News website and Panjereh Weekly.[4]
He announced ran for presidency in 2013 and 2017 but was disqualified by Guardian Council both times. He was a candidate for the 2021 presidential election, but withdrew in favour of Ebrahim Raisi.
