Amathus, Transjordan

Amathus (Ancient Greek: Ἀμαθοῦς or τὰ Ἀμαθά;^[1]^[2] in Eusebius, Ἀμμαθοὺς.^[3] Hebrew: עמתו^[4] was a fortified city east of the Jordan River, in modern-day Jordan.
