Ansar al-Sharia in Tunisia (Arabic: أنصار الشريعة في تونس, romanized: Supporters of Sharia in Tunisia)[4] is a Salafi Jihadist group that operates in Tunisia. In 2013, the group was estimated to have roughly 10,000 members.[1] It has been listed as a terrorist group by the Tunisian government[5] as well by Iraq, the United Nations, the UAE, the United Kingdom[6] and the United States.[7] Some of its members may be linked to the 2015 Sousse attacks.[8] In 2013, the group declared loyalty to Al-Qaeda.[3]
