Catherine Jane Smith[1] (born 16 June 1985)[2] is a British politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Lancaster and Fleetwood since 2015. A member of the Labour Party, she was a member of the shadow cabinets led by Jeremy Corbyn and Keir Starmer from 2016 to 2021 as Shadow Secretary of State, previously Shadow Minister, for Young People and Democracy.[3]

Smith is the Labour candidate in Lancaster and Wyre in the 2024 United Kingdom general election.[4]
