Commissions of Inquiry

A Commission of Inquiry (CoI) is an ad-hoc formal public inquiry appointed by the President of Sri Lanka by warrant under the Public Seal of the Republic to inquire into and report in public or in secret findings, give advice and make recommendations under the Commission of Inquiry Act of 1948, which has since been amended in 1950, 1953, 1955 and 2008. It may consist of one or more commissioners.[1]
