Corruption in Ukraine

Corruption in Ukraine is a significant issue that effects society[1][2] going back to the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.[3] After declaring independence from the Soviet Union, Ukraine faced a series of politicians from different sides of the political spectrum, as well as criminal bosses and oligarchs, who used the corruption of police, political parties, and industry to gain power.[4] Ukraine is still considered one of the more corrupt countries in Europe, but has made steady progress at improvement since 2015.[5][6]
