Dhirendra Pal Singh, known as D. P. Singh, is an Indian academic administrator. On 22 August 2022, Uttar Pradesh Government named him as the Education Adviser to Chief Minister^[1] and on 28 April 2024 he was appointed as Chancellor of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) by the Union Ministry of Education, Government of India for a term of five years till 30 April 2029.

He has served as vice-chancellor of three different universities, namely Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Banaras Hindu University and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. He is the former director of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). He has also served as the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
