Erika H. James is an American academic and businesswoman. She is the dean of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is both the first woman and the first Black person to lead the business school.[1] James is known for her crisis leadership and workplace diversity research.[2] James was named dean of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in February 2020. Her term began on July 1 of the same year.[3][4]
