Fardis (Persian: فردیس) is a city in the Central District of Fardis County, Alborz province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[3]
In August 2010, Karaj County, Nazarabad County, and Savojbolagh County were separated from Tehran province in the establishment of Alborz province.[4]
In July 2013, the city of Meshkin Dasht and other parts were separated from Karaj County in the establishment of Fardis County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Fardis as its capital.[3]
The city had a population in 2016 of 181,174 people in 58,953 households.[2]
