Kathleen M. McGarry is a professor of economics at the University of California, Los Angeles and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research.[1] She is also a co-investigator of the Health and Retirement Survey.[2] From 2007 to 2009, she was Joel Z. and Susan Hyatt ‘72 Professor in the Department of Economics at Dartmouth College.[3] She has served on the Editorial Boards of the American Economic Journal: Public Policy, the American Journal of Health Economics, and the Journal of Pension Economics.

She has been awarded numerous teaching awards at UCLA.[3]
