Mansehra is a city in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan and the headquarters of Mansehra District. It is home to Swati tribe of Pashtuns, conquered by them in late 1640s. It is the 71st largest city in Pakistan by population and the 7th largest city in the province.

The name of the city is derived from the name of its founder, Mahan Singh, who was an administrator in the Sikh Army during the rule of Ranjit Singh.[3] The city hosts the Mansehra Shiva Temple, which is famous for its annual Shivarathri festival.[4]
