The Merel class was a class of three patrol boats built by the Marine Etablissement in Surabaya for service with the Government Navy. The class consisted of HNLMS Merel, HNLMS Reiger and HNLMS Fazant and would soon after entering service be rebuilt into seaplane tenders.[1][2]
