The Musk Foundation is a US-based charitable foundation funded and directed primarily by Elon Musk. The foundation is dedicated to promoting renewable energy, crewed space exploration, pediatrics, science and engineering education, and the "development of safe artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity".[2] At the end of 2022, the foundation had assets of US$5 billion, $4.5 billion of which were in the form of shares in the carmaker Tesla.[3]
