Ossett /ˈɒsɪt/ is a market town in West Yorkshire, England. It is in the City of Wakefield district. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is situated between Dewsbury, Horbury and Wakefield.^[1] At the 2021 census, the town had a population of 21,861.^[2] Ossett forms part of the Heavy Woollen District.
