Phani Mukut Rai was the first ruler of the Nagvanshi dynasty. He was also the founder of Nagvanshi dynasty in first century CE.[1][2][3] However, the story of Phani Mukut Rai is considered as a myth by historians and scholars date the establishment of the Nagvanshi dynasty around fourth century CE.[4]
