The Secretary of Education (Filipino: Kalihim ng Edukasyon) is the member of the Cabinet of the Philippines in charge of the Department of Education (DepEd).
The current secretary is Sara Duterte, who assumed office on June 30, 2022. Her tenure is set to end on July 19, 2024 after she announced her resignation on June 19. Sonny Angara will succeed Duterte as education secretary on July 19, 2024.[1]
