Thapa (pronunciation:[t̪ʰapa]) is an Indo-Aryan surname belonging to the Chhetri caste (Rajput) in Nepal and parts of Northern India.[2][3] It is also used by the Magar group, a Sino-Tibetan speaking ethnicity.
