Valyettan (transl. Elder brother) is a 2000 Indian Malayalam-language action drama film directed by Shaji Kailas and scripted by Ranjith. It stars Mammootty, Shobana, Sai Kumar, N. F. Varghese, Siddique and Manoj K Jayan.[1][2][3] It was remade in Kannada as Jyeshta by director Suresh Krissna with Vishnuvardhan in the lead role.[4] The film was released in Kerala on 10 September 2000. The film was a commercial success and was the highest grossing Malayalam film of the year 2000.[5]
