The contest department has completed its forty-six month of competition. A total of 91 articles were entered by 9 editors. Sturmvogel 66 came first with 242 points from 34 articles, followed by Ian Rose with 87 points from 12 articles. They receive the WikiChevrons and the Writer's Barnstar respectively. Honorable mentions go to Parsecboy (84), Cuprum17 (69) and Kirk (62). Historical Perspective, Djmaschek, Wild Wolf and The Bushranger also fielded entries. The participation of 48 editors listed below was recognised with the following awards:
For reviewing 10 or more articles, the WikiChevrons;
For reviewing 3–9 articles, the Content Review Medal;
For reviewing 1–2 articles, project review awards.
The March 2011 Milhist backlog reduction drive saw 10 editors participate. These editors worked on improving articles that were lacking in one or more of the B class criteria. They were then awarded points based on which category was improved. These points varied from 15 for coverage and accuracy, referencing and citation, and articles needing expert attention, to 10 points for articles needing attention to grammar and 5 points for articles needing attention to structure and supporting materials.
