Murray Gell-Mann (/ˈmʌri ˈɡɛl ˈmæn/; 15 September 1929 – 24 Mei 2019)^[4][5] adalah seorang fisikawan Amerika yang menerima Nobel Fisika pada tahun 1969 untuk karyanya tentang teori partikel dasar. Ia adalah Profesor Emeritus Fisika Teoritis di Institut Teknologi California dan salah satu pendiri Institut Santa Fe, serta merupakan seorang profesor fisika di Universitas New Mexico, dan Profesor Presiden bidang Fisika dan Kedokteran di Universitas California Selatan.^[6]

Gell-Mann sempat menghabiskan beberapa periode di CERN, fasilitas penelitian nuklir di Swiss, dan juga menjadi anggota Yayasan Memorial John Simon Guggenheim pada tahun 1972.^[7][8]
