Avogadrov broj

Avogadrov broj, poznat još i kao Avogadrova konstanta, je broj molekula u jednom molu supstance.[1] Označava se simbolom NA (ili L po austrijkom fizičaru Johanu Jozefu Lošmitu, koji je prvi odredio približnu veličinu molekula, ali ovo drugo se izbegava jer L je oznaka i za Lošmitovu konstantu). Zvanično je definisan kao broj atoma C-12 u 12 grama ove supstance. Avogadrov broj iznosi 6,022 141 99(47) · 1023 mol-1.[2][3][4]

Treba skrenuti pažnju da Avogadrov broj nije bezdimenziona veličina.

Avogadrov broj se koristi za određivanje ne samo broja molekula već i jona i atoma.
