Vardar Macedonia

Borders of the modern geographical region of Macedonia, divided by the national boundaries of the neighboring countries. To the northwest: Vardar Macedonia, encompassing North Macedonia; Trgovište, Preševo and Elez Han municipalities in Serbia. To the northeast: Pirin Macedonia, part of southwestern Bulgaria. To the south: Macedonia (Greece), part of northern Greece.

Vardar Macedonia (Macedonian and Serbian: Вардарска Македонија, Vardarska Makedonija) was the name given to the territory of the Kingdom of Serbia (1912–1918) and Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1918–1941) roughly corresponding to today's North Macedonia. It covers the northwestern part of geographical Macedonia, whose modern borders came to be defined by the mid-19th century.
