Poa je jedan od rodova kosmopolitskih gramnea (Poaceae),^[1] rasprostranjen u umjerenim i toplo-umjerenim regijama obje hemisfere. Sastoji se od dva podroda: Poa sa hermafroditskim cvjetovima i Dioicopoa, sa dvospolnim cvjetovima. Naziv „Poa“ potiče od grčke riječi herba ili „trava“.
