Les filidracees (nome científicu Philydraceae) formen una familia de plantes monocotiledónees herbales, con periantu petaloideo a pesar de ser una comelínida, la so filotaxis ye dística y les sos fueyes isobifaciales-ensiformes (sacante en Philydrella), les sos inflorescencies pilosas como llana, y les sos flores tienen una simetría billateral distintiva con un únicu estame en posición abaxal. El verticilu esternu de periantu ye petaloideo y muncho más pequeñu que'l verticilu internu según Soltis et al. (2005, pero'l verticilu esternu ye más grande según Stevens nel APWeb a xineru del 2009). Les flores de les filidracees tamién s'abrir per un solu día. Son natives d'Australia al sureste d'Asia. La familia foi reconocida por sistemes de clasificación modernos como'l sistema de clasificación APG III (2009^[3]) y el APWeb (2001 d'equí p'arriba^[4]).
