Plazmin, sa svojim prekursorom zvamim plazminogen, jest značajan enzim (EC: 3.4.21.7) u krvi, koji razlaže mnoge plazmatske proteine, uključujući i fibrin krvnih pločica. Razgradnja fibrina naziva se fibrinoliza. Kod ljudi kodiran je genom PLG.[5]
