Als Hominisation (auch Anthropogenese, selten Anthropogenie) wird die evolutive Herausbildung des Merkmalsgefüges bezeichnet, das für den anatomisch modernen Menschen (Homo sapiens) charakteristisch ist.
Anhand von Fossilfunden und molekularbiologischen Datierungen wird der Beginn der Hominisation in die Zeit vor 7 bis 5 Millionen Jahren datiert, als sich die Entwicklungslinie der Schimpansen von der zum Menschen führenden Entwicklungslinie der Hominini trennte.
Auch in der Gegenwart ist die Evolution des Menschen nicht zum Stillstand gekommen.[1][2][3][4][5]
