The 2024 United States Senate election in New Jersey will be held on November 5, 2024, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the state of New Jersey. Primary elections are June 4, 2024.[1]

The election has drawn attention due to incumbent Democrat Bob Menendez's indictment for federal corruption charges in 2023.[2] On March 21, 2024, Menendez said he would not run for re-election as a Democrat, and is instead considering a run as an independent, pending the outcome of his trial.

Even before Menendez's decision not to seek the Democratic nomination, the primary was viewed as a contest between U.S. Representative Andy Kim and Tammy Murphy, the first lady of New Jersey.[3] The campaign between Kim and Murphy was seen as highly contentious, due to allegations of nepotism and favoritism shown by politicians and party leaders in the state towards Murphy; she ultimately withdrew from the race on March 24.[4]
