Alon Confino (April 1, 1959 – June 28, 2024)[1] was an Israeli[2][3][4] cultural historian. He served as the Director of the Institute for Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies and a Professor of History and Judaic Studies at University of Massachusetts Amherst before his passing on June 28, 2024.
He grew up in Jerusalem,[5] and studied at the University of Tel Aviv (BA) and University of California, Berkeley (MA & PHD).[6]
