Artificial intelligence in education refers to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in education with the aim to facilitate, promote and support teaching and learning. It has garnered significant attention in the educational field due to its potential to revolutionize learning processes, personalize instruction, and improve educational outcomes.^[1] It encompasses various applications such as personalized instruction, intelligent tutoring systems, virtual mentors, adaptive learning systems, educational games, virtual reality simulations, and automated grading systems. The integration of AI in education aims to improve student engagement, provide customized learning experiences, and streamline administrative tasks for educators.^[2] UNESCO recognizes the future of AI in education as an instrument to reach Sustainable Development Goal 4, called "Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education".^[3]
