Awareness in philosophy[1] and psychology[2] is a perception or knowledge of something.[2] The concept is often synonymous to consciousness.[3] However, one can be aware of something without being explicitly conscious of it, such as in the case of blindsight.[2]
The states of awareness are also associated with the states of experience so that the structure represented in awareness is mirrored in the structure of experience.[1]
