The Battle of Irjar was a battle between the Russian Empire and the Emirate of Bukhara on May 20, 1866, near Irjar, a narrow pass on the left bank of the Syr Darya river, between Chinoz and Khujand. It was fought between a Russian contigent commanded by Major Romanovsky[2] against the Bukharans of Muzaffar bin Nasrullah.
