Caroline Julie Porte Ansell (born 12 January 1971)[1] is a Conservative Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Eastbourne since 2019.[2][3] She was first elected at the 2015 general election, but was defeated at the snap 2017 general election.

Ansell served as a local councillor for the Meads ward on Eastbourne Borough Council from 2012 to 2015 and became deputy opposition leader, with the shadow portfolio for community including housing.[4][5] In her first two years in the House of Commons she was influential in fighting immigration issues on behalf of constituents and against revenge porn.[6][7][8][9]
