Christopher James Priest (born James Christopher Owsley /ˈaʊzli/, June 30, 1961[3]) is an American comic book writer who is at times credited simply as Priest. He changed his name legally circa 1993.[4] He was the first black writer-editor in mainstream comics.[5]
