Der Freitag (English: The Friday, stylized in its logo as der Freitag) is a German weekly national newspaper established in 1990.[1] It has a focus on politics, culture and economy, and is published in Rhenish format. The place of publication is Berlin. Its publisher and editor-in-chief is Jakob Augstein, who is also one of the main owners of Der Spiegel.[2] The newspaper has won several awards, such as European Newspaper of the Year and World's Best Designed Newspaper.
