The HR series is the upcoming sixth series of rapid transit rolling stock used on the Toronto subway system of Toronto, Ontario, Canada that will be used on the upcoming Ontario Line. They were ordered by Infrastructure Ontario, after contract for rolling stock, signaling, operations and maintenance was awarded to the consortium in November 2022[1]They will be delivered by 2027, with all trains expected to be in service by the 2030's. As of 2025, they have a cost of CA$9.00 billion.[2]The trains would include newly designed automatic sliding doors and installation of wheelchair accessible seats and bike racks, the trains will be scheduled to be delivered and built by Hitachi Rail, containing the private mix of Japanese and European companies, and will be operated by the Toronto Transit Commission.
