Kim Min-jeon (Korean: 김민전; Hanja: 金玟甸, born May 9, 1965) is a South Korean political scientist and politician.[1] She served as a professor at Kyung Hee University while also appearing in the media as a conservative political commentator, hosting KBS's '추적 60분' in 2002 and YTN's '생방송 쟁점 토론' in 2004 among others.[2] Kim has been involved with the National Assembly Secretariat, the National Assembly Research Service, the National Election Commission, the Korea Association for the Advancement of Parliamentarism, the Korean Association of Political Science and Communication, and the Korean Party Studies Association.[3][4][5] During the 2012 and 2017 presidential election, she was involved in Ahn Cheol-soo’s presidential campaign. And in 2021 she was recruited as a co-chair of the People Power Party’s presidential election committee.[2]
During the 2024 South Korean martial law crisis, Kim expressed staunch support for then-president Yoon Suk-yeol.[6] She expressed ambivalence on the conspiracy theory that 2020 legislative election was rigged, while calling for a ballot recount.[7]
