Pini Gurfil (Hebrew: פיני גורפיל) is an Israeli aerospace engineer, university professor, author, poet, and singer-songwriter. He is recognized as one of the pioneers in the field of distributed space systems,[1] in particular satellite formation flying, and served as the Principal Investigator (PI) for the SAMSON (Space Autonomous Missions for Swarming and Geolocating Nanosatellites) project, one of the world's first formation-flying missions involving three satellites, launched in 2021.[2] He is a professor in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.[3] Alongside his scientific career, Gurfil is an active performing singer with two solo albums released to date: "Just Below My Cover" and "Read The Lyrics".[4]
