Ekushey Book Fair

The Ekushey Book Fair (Bengali: একুশে বই মেলা, romanizedEkuśe Bôi Mela, Bengali pronunciation: [ekuʃe boɪ mæla]), officially called Amar Ekushey Boi Mela (অমর একুশে বই মেলা), also Amar Ekushey Grontho Mela (অমর একুশে গ্রন্থমেলা), lit.'immortal twenty-one book fair',[1] is the largest book fair in Bangladesh.[1][2] Organised annually in February by Bangla Academy in Dhaka, the month-long event is free to all. In 2024, the fair attracted six million visitors and generated a record 600 million (US$5.6 million) in book sales.

The event commemorates those who died on 21 February 1952 during the Bengali Language Movement, which sought to establish Bengali as one of the state languages of former East Pakistan.
