The English Schools Foundation (ESF) is an organisation that runs 22 international schools in Hong Kong. It is Hong Kong's largest English-medium organisation of international schools.[4] It was founded in 1967 with the passage of the English Schools Foundation Ordinance.[5]

In addition to tuition fees, the foundation receives an ongoing subsidy from the Hong Kong Government, which is being phased out.[needs update] The schools also receive donations from their parent–teacher associations.

Although all ESF schools are comprehensive and non-selective, students in the foundation have generally done well academically, with 90% of their graduates going to different universities around the world.
