Gabrielle M. Spiegel

Gabrielle Michele Spiegel (born January 20, 1943) is an American historian of medieval France, and the former Krieger-Eisenhower Professor of History at Johns Hopkins University where she served as chair for the history department for six years, and acting and interim dean of faculty.[1] She also served as dean of humanities at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2004–2005, and, from 2008 to 2009, she was the president of the American Historical Association.[2] In 2011, she was elected as a fellow to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.[3]
