George Ambrose Lloyd, 1st Baron Lloyd,^[3] GCSI, GCIE, DSO, PC (19 September 1879 – 4 February 1941) was a British Conservative politician and colonial administrator who was strongly associated with the "Diehard" wing of the party. From 1937 to 1941, he was chairman of the British Council in which capacity he sought to ensure support for Britain's position during the Second World War.
