In 1992, American singer and actress Whitney Houston recorded a new arrangement of "I Will Always Love You" for the soundtrack to The Bodyguard, her film debut. It was the world's best-selling single of 1992 and is one of the best selling singles of all time.[4] Houston won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the song,[5] which was originally written and sung in 1973 by Dolly Parton.
