Jack Simon Abbott is a British Labour and Co-operative Party politician who was elected the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ipswich in the 2024 general election.[1]
Abbott grew up in Suffolk.[2] He was a councillor on Suffolk County Council, being the "Labour group spokesperson for children’s services, education and skills". Later he worked for a trade association for renewable energy.[3] He had also worked as a teaching assistant at a school in Ipswich.[2]
In 2015 Abbott stood for the Central Suffolk and North Ipswich seat, coming second to the Conservative incumbent Dan Poulter.
