Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a 2023 American animated superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales / Spider-Man. Produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel Entertainment, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). The film was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham.[1] Shameik Moore voices Miles, starring alongside Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Vélez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Shea Whigham, Greta Lee, Daniel Kaluuya, Mahershala Ali and Oscar Isaac.[2] In the film, Miles goes on an adventure with Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman (Steinfeld) across the multiverse where he meets a team of Spider-People known as the Spider-Society, led by Miguel O'Hara / Spider-Man 2099 (Issac), but comes into conflict with them over handling a new threat in the form of the Spot (Schwartzman).[1]

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse premiered in Los Angeles on May 30, 2023,[3] and was released in the United States on June 2.[4] Produced on a budget of $100–150 million,[5][6] Across the Spider-Verse grossed $690.9 million worldwide.[7] On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 95% based on 385 reviews.[8]

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse garnered awards and nominations in various categories with particular recognition for its acting, musical score and visual effects. The film won Best Animated Feature, and was nominated for Best Score and Best Visual Effects at the 29th Critics' Choice Awards. The film earned three nominations at the 81st Golden Globe Awards, and two at the 77th British Academy Film Awards. The National Board of Review named Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse the Best Animated Film of 2023. Much like its predecessor, the film earned seven nominations at the 51st Annie Awards, including Best Animated Feature and Best Directing in a Feature Production, and won in all its categories. In addition, the American Film Institute named Across the Spider-Verse one of the top-ten films of 2023.
