List of birds of Rwanda

This is a list of bird species recorded in Rwanda. The avifauna of Rwanda include a total of 705 confirmed species. 22 species are globally threatened, and 2 are introduced.^[1]

This list's taxonomic treatment (designation and sequence of orders, families and species) and nomenclature (common and scientific names) largely follows The Clements Checklist of Birds of the World, 2022 update.^[2]

The following tags have been used to highlight several categories, but not all species fall into one of these categories. Those that do not are commonly occurring native species.

(A) Accidental - a species that rarely or accidentally occurs in Rwanda
(I) Introduced - a species introduced to Rwanda as a consequence, direct or indirect, of human actions
(Ex) Extirpated - a species that no longer occurs in Rwanda although populations exist elsewhere
