Lou L. LaBrant (May 28, 1888 – February 25, 1991) was an American schoolteacher and writer.[1] She was president of the National Council of Teachers of English in 1954 and a pioneer in English education,[2] championing holistic and child-centered approaches to the teaching of reading and writing.[3]
